iOS 5 will have more than 200 new features. The most touted feature of iOS 5 will be a new notifications scheme. The notifications window employs a drop-down with a swipe gesture
iOS will now feature improved contact integration with social networks such as Twitter. A new messaging service for the iOS will be introduced exclusive to iOS device and will be on the lines of RIMs BlackBerry Messenger
The iOS 5 update will be available in September of this year
Apple announced its much awaited iCloud storage service which has been designed store all the data in the cloud making data synchronization among various devices seamless. It replaces the buggy mobile me and will be free for most parts unlike MobileMe that cost $99 a year
iCloud will support iTunes. Users will now have the ability to sync all their purchased music on-to iCloud. Interestingly iCloud will not upload music if it detects it in its library and will automatically take it from Apple's library, eliminating the need for lengthy uploads
All these iCloud apps will be free and Apple will provide 5GB storage, which will not include purchased music, app and Books. iCloud will be available in beta for iOS 4.3 and will ship with iOS 5
