Philips launched an advertisement in newspapers recently where this TV comes with a Free Blu Ray DVD Player. But it is not available on Flipkart. Though its another matter that prices of Blu Ray DVDs are too exorbitant and so many people download pirated versions instead.
As far as this product is concerned, it is excellent. The DCR of 5million: 1 is cool really. It is full HD as well. It is from 'Series 5000'. The next level offered by Philips is 'Series 6000', but it is more expensive than it. There is a TV in 'Series 6000' which has a DCR of 80,00,000:1 (8million!), but it comes at a price! At this price point of around 32,000, this is an excellent option. This TV also comes with Pixel Plus HD. It is full HD with 1080p.
Great product in all!

It's the best feature rich product available in the market for the price point of under 35k. Pixel Plus HD, 240Hz motion rate, DCR 5,000,000:1 worked great when i tested it on KungFu Panda DVD & Batman Begins DVD. The colour tones & black levels are superb.
The only downside to this FULL HD LED TV is - viewing angle. Not that good. (Panasonic L32D25 is great but was out-of-stock so settled for Philips 32PFL5556). Had my drawing room been bigger i really wouldn't have cared about LED TVs, would have straight away gone for 42" Full HD Panasonic Plasma.
Bottomline - In 32", if Viewing angle is not an issue (I recommend this) OR look at Panasonic L32D25 or Toshiba 32PS1 (HD Ready only).
If you wanna buy 42" or greater size TV then hands down opt for Plasma (Someday, I will).

Philips used to be one of the best brands in the Audio & video area and I've been a great fan of it's products. But as I said it "used to be" one of the best but not any more. I recently purchased this model & here are the good as well as bad points I noticed :
1. Philips has stopped manufacturing of TVs and Videocon is manufacturing on behalf of Philips.
2. The sound quality of this TV is hopeless & it feels like the sound is coming from a closed box with very low bass & no virtual surround sound feeling.
3. The viewing angle of this TV is very limited and the moment you move from the front to side wards (even a few inches) the picture becomes non view able and milky white. You can't hope to see this TV while lying on the bed.
4. Contrast ratio of this TV is too high and if you are watching a normal channel (non HD) the picture quality is not good.
5. Brightness is too high and even after several adjustments it is not lowered, thus putting a lot of strain on eyes.
6. If you watch a blu ray DVD with blue ray player & HDMI cable then the picture quality is really very good.
7. This TV doesnt connect with my Home theater system (Latest Philips made) as there is no option of audio/video out wither through composite or component out.
you can take your own decision after looking at all the points on whether this is really worth it or not!!!!!
