I bought this HD tv after a lot of search. Its really a smart tv. looks so stylish and smart. Ability to update Facebook and Twitter from the TV itself and Panasonic?s external speakers gives us a home theater experience. Smart, stylish, great features, full HD experience I am loving it all.

TV is simply great. Crystal clear picture in HD great contrast ratio, fantastic sound for a Flat panel. This product has really nice features like it has internet support, 2 HDMI and 1 USB. Other than that it has beautiful sleek looks and almost all formats support. I am happy with its performance. It is very nice product from Panasonic I would definitely recommend this over other products.

From a long time I have been planning to buy a new HD quality TV. Initially I asked a few friends and then searched on the net, there i got few good reviews about Samsung and Panasonic then after some comparison on my level I decided to buy Panasonic. And now after one month I can happily say that it?s a very impressive tv with amazing features. I am not a very technical person but now watching movies is whole new experience for me.

Have had this TV for over a month now and its absolutely brilliant. Bought this as a replacement for my mother's 5 year old Sam**** 42" plasma, which I feel is the most miserable brand of televisions that one could subject themselves to own. Let me say straight up that this X-series plasma is the lowest in the Panasonic lineup for 2012. That said, it served my purpose perfectly because at 73 years, my mother doesn't need 3D or a smart TV. It is not full HD 1080p but with only a handful of HD channels on TV available, that too broadcast at 720p - I didn't see the point of wasting money on a full HD model. All other decent brands/models in the 42" range were all pushing full HD/3D and hence at a much higher price point. Let me also clarify here that I was not looking at LED/LCD models because their picture quality is rubbish compared to a good plasma. Flipkart showed my order as shipped within 2 days but oddly enough it took an additional 6 days for the TV to arrive at my door, which turned out to be within 20kms from the "shipped from" location on the invoice!! They stuck to their initial delivery promise of 7-9 working days, so I couldn't really complain. Panasonic's local centre called me themselves an hour after the TV arrived in the afternoon and the engineer came and set it up the same evening, VESA mount and all, in 45 mins. Very impressive. Picture quality is excellent and bright. It has only 5 pre-set modes to choose from but they cover pretty much most of your viewing options, though I did need to make the dynamic mode less dramatic. Each mode can be customized with the usual settings along with 3 color temperatures and NR settings etc. For those of you still confused with LED/LCD vs plasma - there is no "ghosting" or "laggy picture" on ANY plasma so I'm not mentioning this at all. 3500000:1 contrast ratio is also marketing hullabaloo - if you buy a plasma, the contrast ratio is infinitely better than an LED/LCD costing even 5 times more. The sound quality is decent. Don't expect much from any TV with speakers firing forward or downward from behind the bezel. If you want to be immersed in anything more than the average saas-bahu soap on TV, buy a basic speaker setup to compliment your flat screen, even if it's only 2.1 It's got 2 HDMI ports, but unfortunately both in the rear. The rear connectivity panel is recessed so it can be reached with a little effort - it's easier to just have another cable connected to the second port and kept to the side to keep swapping with your PS3/Blu-Ray etc. The other connectivity options however are what make this TV stand apart. I have 1000's of movies and series on my PC on another floor of the house and to be able to play them wirelessly on this TV is a breeze. Now, what Panasonic means by "wifi ready" is that you need to purchase a separate USB wifi box-at-the-end-of-a-short-wire thingy from them @ Rs.5000/-. That's not only INSANELY expensive, you also block up the only USB port on the TV. With a little technical know-how you can set up a wifi repeater or access point by configuring a wifi router (which you can purchase right here on Flipkart for as low Rs.1200/-) and plugging it into the RJ-45 LAN port in the back of the TV. I've been able to stream any file format upto 720p easily. Any 1080 content breaks up despite being on a 802.11n 2.4GHz band. This however isn't the case with any 1080 content played directly off a USB stick - I've played 12gig 1080p MKV movies with no issues. To be able to stream wirelessly off a Windows 7 machine is another level of MS madness, so please do enough homework on this if you plan to use the feature. The SD card slot on the side is great to show off those holiday pictures without needing to lug around my DSLR, kind of convenient but that's about all it's good for. Lastly, there are a few inbuilt apps that you can use once it's connected to the net - streaming radio by Hungama (which is available on Tata Sky anyway without using up bandwidth), Times of India news and Facebook (why on a TV, I don't know!!). Someone mentioned "Skype" in another review, unless it's got a very cleverly disguised camera hidden in the bezel that I've not found and is so secretive that Panasonic themselves don't mention in the features - there is NO Skype functionality!! It's a BIG screen, so make sure you have 10-12 feet of viewing distance from it for a mix of HD/SD content. Like I said in the beginning, it's a great TV for the price - no full HD frills, no voice control/3D/smart TV gimmickry. The 3 year warranty alone should make Panasonic kick others out of this country for good. I was planning on replacing my own 42" Sam**** plasma that's also gone down the drain in under 3 years (as per them there are no parts available any more for it to be serviced!!) with the Panasonic 50" XT model, but alas, Flipkart jacked up the price of all the panny models by 6-8k in the last month. Might wait till Diwali to see if they feel like being generous!!
