Oppo made a bit of a splash when it entered India with the N1, a relatively premium phone with a unique swivelling camera, but it will take a lot more than one model and a few splashy ads for the company to establish itself in India. As an unknown brand with an unproven after-sales service track record, Oppo has a tough fight ahead of it - but if it does manage, the rewards of success in India's booming smartphone market will be rich.

  • Like it but too Expensive !!
Sumit Chauhan (May 2, 2014) on Gadgets 360
This Product is too expensive for more peoples and has a only 8mp Camera in 26990 INR !! That's why i have given 3 stars to this Product.I like this Product because this phone comes with very good built quality, camera and software but again, the MT6582 chipset backed by 1 GB of RAM does not justify the specified price-tag of 25,000 INR to 30,000 INR.i Don't like this in some areas like the phone sports a polished casing with not so impressive guts under the hood. This might be one of the best MT6582 phones we see this year, but the price is too high, especially when phones like Nexus 5 and Gionee Elife E7 are offering Snapdragon 800 in the same price range. I Recommend this Product to those who want to use the Newcomers in the Smartphone range and want some More Entertainment in Gaming and Videos !!

OPPO has its USP, its been showcased by its colorOS: offscreen and onscreen gestures. R1's front camera beats any camera in its price range.

The OPPO R1 829 is the best smatphone I have ever used. I Am using this phone from past 4 months. The most amazing thing is the front 5MP camera that has BIS sensor which gives you best selfie experience.

  • Kool phone with an awesome shape and Camera
Nicy Aliph (Apr 1, 2014) on Flipkart
I have been using this phone for a month now. Not bought online though. I narrowed to OPPO because of the shape and built quality and nothing on Performance, though performance is good. Camera quality is good, especially front 5MP. Rear 8 MP is configured for low light too, seems like high ISO, so a bit of grains in low light but not so dark shades in the picture. Front and back Gorilla 3 and stylish metal sides. Nice sound clarity and Speaker sound. Some kool features like gestures will make use your phone more easily use-able. Notification LEDs in front and back help you notified though you have your phone kept in upside down on a table. Slim and weightless, easily carry able. Good speed and Performance. Performance bench marking on my phone placed it above Nexus 4 and below Note 3.

  • Very Nice phone
NB (Jul 15, 2015) on Amazon
A very good phone with lots of distinctive features that even I can miss mentioning here. Summarizing my experience with it:+ Using it from last couple of months now and found it good companion for the whole day (or even more) in moderate use+ The built quality is superb. Of late, when things in the market are coming with very less reliability factor, this product stands apart+ Dual SIM phone with above par reception and call quality+ Music listening experience with the earphones accompanied with the phone is awesome+ The camera of the phone is brilliant. The only minor thing I noticed is that it looks like ISO is set a bit higher. Sometimes it brings a very light white layer on pics. Possibly it is done to combat the low light situation but I would have not recommended it+ Satisfactory multitasking+ The Color interface on top of Android 4.2.2 provides some useful functions like starting Torch, Camera, Music when the screen is off+ can be operated with gloves on+ Camera can be started from any screen instantly- The phone is bit slippery in hands. There should have been something on the back side for better gripping- No NFC- No 4G LTE- Sometimes it feels lagging (though it happened rarely and I think it happens with all phones). But may be they could provide it in 2GB RAM version(Some photos taken from this phone are attached to give an idea about the camera)
