OnePlus Nord 2 has been launched as the successor of the OnePlus Nord. The OnePlus Nord was an important smartphone for OnePlus, since it offered consumers an affordable option. The new OnePlus Nord 2 starts at Rs 27,999, which is slightly higher than the original Nord's base price, but it's positioned above the even more affordable Nord CE 5G now. It has higher resolution cameras, a more powerful SoC with 5G connectivity, and stereo speakers. So is this new phone a worthy successor to the OnePlus Nord, or does it fail to offer the same kind of value? I put the OnePlus Nord 2 to the test to find out.

OnePlus Nord 2 Summary

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is the successor of the OnePlus Nord. It is a part of the affordable Nord series and is affordable compared to the OnePlus 9 Series. The OnePlus Nord 2 sports a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with fullHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the front and the back, giving it a premium look and feel.

OnePlus has managed to keep the weight of the smartphone down to 189g. It packs in a 4,500mAh battery and supports 65W Warp charging., the charger is bundled in the box. At the back, it has a triple camera setup, comprising of a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera and a 2-megapixel mono camera.

The Nord 2 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200AI processor and is available in 6GB, 8GB and 12GB RAM options. OnePlus offers 128GB and 256GB storage options but these aren't expandable further Just like other OnePlus smartphones, the Nord 2 also gets OxygenOS and it is running on top of Android 11. You also get two years of software updates and three years of security updates. The Nord 2 is a good performer and can handle heavy tasks and apps without any issues. The 4500mAh battery can go for a day and a half without any issues. Charging is super quick and the phone can get topped up from a drained state in just 32 minutes.

Camera performance of the Nord 2 is good for the price. Daylight photos are good but shots from the ultra-wide angle camera aren't great. The Nord 2 manages close-ups and portrait shots very well. Low light camera performance was also good and with Nightscape mode, the phone can click better shots in lowlight. Overall, the OnePlus Nord 2 is a good pick for someone on a budget.

Please do something: 1. I bought a Nord 2 on 19th August 2021 for 35000 rupees from Croma, vadodara 2. On July 11th suddenly the phone stops working, the touchscreen doesnt respond at all 3. I take the phone to the authorized service centre in Vadodara 4. Employees saw the tocuhscreen and said - it was the issue with the touch itself and nothing else 5. The damage was due to the way product is made and not due to water or dropping 6. However to check if it will come within warranty they took the inside and came up with a small scratch on the side of the phone and said it was out of warranty 7. They are asking me to pay 8500/- to get the touchscreen fixed 8.You need to understand that i bought this phone 10 months ago, took care of it so much and suddenly one night it stops working because of your technical issues and i am to spend another 8500/-?

One of the worst phones. Very Slow, many software issues, hangs quite often. Sometime you get a call but it doesnot show in the screen and you dont know how to answer it. Pls avoid the phone
