This 808 took mobile photography to a whole new level when it was announced in 2012, packing a 41 Mega pixel sensor, oversampling technologies, dedicated GPU and a lot of tech stuff. For the end user, it meant doing away with a point-and-shoot or even a DSLR, given the quality of photos that this little beast can take.
I bought this phone from NDTV gadgets last year, around 25k and consider it worth every penny. The photos taken have been amazing and being a Nokia call quality is of the highest order. So, as a camera and as a phone, it excels. However, it has its shortcomings, the most glaring would be the OS and the lack of an ecosystem. Nokia killed its App Store for Symbian in 2013 and that meant no new apps or updates. There are options available, though, the Symbian community has developed alternatives like the AppList to keep updates coming. Custom firmware is also available.
Would it be worth buying today ? Maybe not, at 25k, but it is available at 15k or so, it would be a value buy, if nothing, at least as a collector's item :-)
