HMD Global's Nokia 5.3 is among the very few new phones that are part of the Android One programme. It starts at Rs. 13,999 in India and runs stock Android. That's not all, it comes with a promise of two years of major Android version updates and three years of security updates, which smartphones in the budget segment don't usually get. Nokia 5.3 Summary

The Nokia 5.3 is a budget Android smartphone made by HMD Global under Google's Android One Program. HMD Global offers a 6.55-inch HD+ display on the Nokia 5.3 with a tall 20:9 aspect ratio. The display had adequate brightness and decent viewing angles. It has a dewdrop notch at the top which houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The Nokia 5.3 has a quad-camera setup at the back arranged in a circular camera module. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. There are two RAM variants of the Nokia 5.3 with the base variant sporting 4GB of RAM while the higher variant gets 6GB of RAM. Storage remains the same at 64GB but there is an option to expand it using the microSD card slot. It packs in a 4,000mAh battery but only gets a 10W charger in the box. It runs clean stock Android 10 and is guaranteed to get two Android version updates and three years of Android Security updates. Android purists will appreciate the software updates which aren't common in the budget segment.

The quad-camera consists of a 13-megapixel primary camera, a 5-megapixel depth sensor, 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The camera performs decently in daylight and the wide-angle camera does help capture a wider frame. The macro camera has a lower resolution and needs more light for good shots. Lowlight camera performance was strictly average.

Very slow and Screen using errors

The 1st thing which comes to our mind seeing Nokia is the way it used to work....... But after purchasing this particular model i am depressed by the way it works despite having 4gb RAM its very slow and many a times the touchscreen has issues also touchscreen does not work many a times....

An average phone in display, battery,camera.

Even it is low in camera action,low in processor, it don't have super almoid display, but it is up to mark. If you are heavy gamer you don't get support, for normal gamer it's enough. Battery may last for 7 hours if you use unstopped. Many phones in this price range have many features and better than this one. But nokia provides phone a good security. It is best for normal user. You don't have any blotware apps in it. Overall it is above average ranged phone after using for 2 months.

  Sir please could you share your latest feedback on this phone. Is it still performing with rhe same efficiency. Am cobsidering to change my Nokia 6.1, but not sure if 5.3 would be a good replacement. Is the call volume good? Does the phone heat up on charging. Also please confirm whether the phone body is meta or otherwise. Mine, Nokia 6.1 is a metal body & quite sturdy one. But a 32GB phone is hard to sustain with when u need to access official emails.

Best Stock Android Experience

I liked the phone for its stock Android experience. Its a pure Android phone, no bloatware. Its battery optimization really works, for me battery lasts for two days with average usage. As a Stock Android lover I have no regret after having this phone.
