Great system with excellent games. Highly recommended to any proper gamer. Very happy with my purchase. Can't wait to get my hands on Smash Bros.

Since leaving education I've found that my time is much more limited than before; my playtime is limited to evenings and weekends and even then there are other demands on that time.As a result, I found that I was completing games only at a rate of 1 - 2 games every month and liked to go back to older games because they still felt fresh as there was a huge gap between play sessions. Because of this I reasoned that I should get a console with the highest amount of quality exclusives - which I believe is and has always been Nintendo.I've owned every single Nintendo console since the Gameboy colour but decided to get PS3 in the last generation since I wanted to try the third party, JRPGs and popular shooters which were being highly praised on gaming sites. However I found that there were only a handful of titles which I really cared about and enjoyed; Ratchet and Clank series, Red Dead Redemption, FIFA and Dark Souls. I also realised that most of those games which I liked on the PS3 were available on the PC and those which I missed out on I wouldn't have had enough time to play.The console itself is very good quality. I love the fact that Nintendo consoles always feel toy like and durable - I've never known any Nintendo console that I've owned to ever crash or break. The graphics for Mario Kart 8 are absolutely stunning; the attention to detail which you can see on the replays are amazing and the game feels great. I'm a great fan of the Sonic racing game, but this Mario Kart is much, much more polished and a far better game for it.As a software engineer and someone who keeps up to date with the Nvidia conferences, I'd like to finally caution people who are thinking of buying the XBox One and PS4 simply because of their specifications. While they are undeniably higher specced than the Wii U, this usually translates to lazier optimization rather than better graphics. Mass Effect 3 on the last console had around the order of 200-300 render loops if I remember correctly, which I am certain could have been optimized better.Finally to end on a positive note - this is a great time to buy a Wii U; it's starting to build up some momentum and the game library is starting to become pretty decent as well as the free game when you register Mario Kart 8!

Totally underrated console. The adverts make everything look complicated and clumsy. In reality it's very intuitive and brilliant that you can still play with TV off. The controller also has a good 30/40ft range allowing play round the house. Mario Kart is also impressively engineered and brilliant fun: graphics are crisp and detailed. Mario Kart TV also good for looking at highlights and low lights of races.

Grandchildren are in total raptures with this console. As in fact are their patents!

The boys love it and it certainly keeps them entertained.

This must be the most underrated console this generation. I put off buying this thinking there where no games. When i took a look I found there were more games I wanted then the ps4 or xbox one.Do not let the cute graphics let you think the games are easy and/or are just for kids. Very very happy i bought this and more people should definitely buy one if you are after sold fun games. I will be recommending this to other people.

I've had the console for three weeks now and I've loved it so far. True it doesn't have the biggest library of games but more than enough to warrant a purchase.The off-screen play using the gamepad is great too - allows me to carry on playing on playing whilst my girlfriend uses the tv.Only real downside is that the gamepad battery doesn't last that long. It does charge up quickly and can be used whilst charging.Mario Kart 8 is the best version in a long time too.

Since it's weak release, the Wii U has been avoided and ignored. I finally decided to buy it with MK8 and it was worth it - the console has brilliant graphics, fast navigation and excellent features. The game itself had an offer to get ANOTHER free game (one choice, which I got, was New Super Mario Bros. U) and that was an excellent surprise. The game is fantastic - fast, fun and utterly addictive. Character selection is kind of slow and battle mode is mediocre, but they're the only flaws, and it's a brilliant game. Don't ignore the Wii U - it's a brilliant console for any age to enjoy.

If you love n64 Mario kart, buy it. Don't think, just do it. Also Smash is out around xmas so....yeah any brawl,melee fans will be happy to buy this.

Great product. I have been contemplating getting one for a while now, and I finally did. The Wii U's graphics are outstanding and the games it offers are awesome. The console has plenty of child friendly games to offer with a some higher age rated games. If you are going to purchase this product, I would recomend you buy"The Legend of Zelda: The windwaker HD". Mario Kart 8 is also a very good game, and very enjoyable to play with the entire family.

consol is better than i think. the menus is little for child style, but the games YAHOOO! best games on wii u!

My kids are loving this system. Nintendo deserves success for it and some of the dedicated Nintendo titles are just a blast. Money well spent.

Excellent

Not the most powerful console on the market but the games it has for it more than make up for it. The new controller is good with responsive, nice feeling sticks, plus the touch screen is made good use of, depending on the game. It's nice to be able to just pick up the controller and play on that without taking over the television. It also has apps for such services and Netflix, bonus.

I was more than a little sceptical of the WiiU, not as powerfull as xbox one or Ps4, I am an avid gamer since 1984 when I got my Atari 2600.I know my consoles and I am very impressed with the Wiiu.The price point is excellent for such a nice machine.And now we have MK8 what are you waiting for....Buy It!!!!

Really happy with my purchase, the Wii U is fantastic. Bought the console with Mario Kart and Donkey Kong and they both excellent. Looking forward to 2015 as Zelda and Starfox are released. Recommend this console as it brings the fun back to gaming. Outstanding.

Christmas pressie for kids - exactly as advertised and turned up with no hassles

Early Christmas present after much hesitation and I love it. I've missed playing a real console. I have a ps4 and its all simulators. Nintendo still let you play games.

True gamers, people looking for real fun and entertainment from their games, know Nintendo have always delivered. Not only are they hardware specialists but they are veteran game creators and innovators.You want graphics, go Xbox or PS. You want gamepla, fun and serious entertainment, go Nintendo. The Wii U has it all.Mariokart 8 is by far the best one in the series and now with Smash Bros its even better!
