Very happy with this purchase! I took 6 months researching for my needs both gaming and as a graphic designer that travels. This has the power to handle any task or game I throw at it without a hitch. The only problem I've had is when it is hooked to my workstation monitor/keyboard/mouse, sometimes when I open games, the game uses a generic graphics card instead of the nvidia which causes all kinds of lag issues. The solution is to open the laptop and use the laptop keyboard/touch pad to open the game. Then it uses the correct video card and I can again close the laptop.This laptop can get hot in a hurry if you keep it plugged in and running, so definitely invest in a cooling accessory that you can set it on top of to protect your lap and the vital hardware. With my cooling accessory plugged into the laptop and running games I can get roughly 4 hours of battery life. It would probably be longer with the cooler.

Update 12/11/2018. I've revised my review based on successful resolution of the WIFI issue. MSI support is still horrible; however, with some help from IT friends my new laptop works flawlessly and is a nice piece of applied technology.

I've used computers for most of my adult life. They've been for work, 3D modeling, engineering, etc. When I gamed, I used a console, Xbox, or PS4. I never thought I would find a computer that allowed me to be productive with my work applications and a powerhouse in the gaming world.I've only had the computer a short period of time, but here's what I can tell you:1. It feels solid. I've seen reviews where they talk about flex, but to my experience, that is a very small issue that I have not seen to be a problem.2. It's fast, oh so very fast. This machine feels amazing, no hesitation with applications or any of the cames I'm playing.3. Battery life isn't what they claim, but let's be real. If your gaming, you're connected to a power cable.I've never used MSI before, but I think they just found a new customer going forward.

Awesome laptop great in every respect!

I REALLY LOVE the aesthetics of this machine. It's just so classy and great to look at.Pros:-Great Keyboard, easily my favorite that I've ever used. I also love the lighting on it.-SO MUCH CUSTOMISATION, Love that you can customise the key colors, screen colors, and so on-Very nice display, looks sharper than my old Acer V Nitro though both have the 1080P screen-Best trackpad I've ever used, rarely have I felt necessary to hunt down my mouse like I've always had to in the past.Cons:-SPEAKERS, jesus, they should be embarrassed. They're terrible. Out of the box they were very quiet at full blast, and then I putzed around in the settings and somehow got them to get louder, but they're terrible. They're tinny and hollow sounding.-Ports, they're good, but no SD card slot, only one USB type C but that's it. Internally they make up for it; 2 M.2 slots and 2 Ram slots.-Personally not a RAID fan. It's too volatile.-A LOT OF PRE-INSTALLED SOFTWARE. I get some are necessary like the STEEL SERIES and gaming centric MSI apps. The MS Store apps aren't, nor the Norton Antivirus trial. There are a couple of dozens of that stuff.Conclusion:Super happy with it, going to start using it to do 3d printing and drawing. Glad I went with the 32GB RAM option with the dual NVME 512GB drives installed in RAID. This seems like the sort of laptop that would be a pain to upgrade yourself given how compact and loaded it is.

Perfect laptop fits all my needs. I am doing some data processing that needs a lot of computational power and ram, this one just fits all my needs. Besides, the monitor is so great that I can work with it for a long time without feeling tired. Compare to the zenbook pro, I prefer the zenbook pro's keyboard. But it doesn't affect this is a great power workstation.

Amazingly capable laptop. Able to handle everything I throw at it from videogames to 4k video editing. Build quality is probably a little lacking, but only time will tell how durable it is. Performance/Spec wise this is better than anything you can get from the major laptop suppliers for the price.

The meterial is a little flimsy because of the thin design but overall its still a solid build and can run almost any game available right now.

This machine is quite unbelievable for a laptop. The build quality if fantastic. The RGG keyboard is beautiful and feels fantastic. The trackpad is responsive and accurate, maybe the best I've ever used. The 1070+144hz display just kills every game I've thrown at it on Ultra settings. Desktop and work application performance is also fantastic. Everything is done NOW. My only cons are the power port location, right in the middle on the right bezzle, and the speakers leave a little to be desired for a laptop of this quality and cost. Overall, I'd still give it 10/10 though and recommend to anyone who wants a serious piece of hardware in their laptop bag.

This light-weight laptop has a fantastic, customizable lighted keyboard that is perfect for creating illumination configurations that highlight just those keys that you particular game requires. Each key can be independently and uniquely colored and adjusted for intensity. It is easy to switch between color configurations for gaming and for general use. Choosing this PC was one of my best decisions.

I read a lot of reviews about this laptop before buying and have greatly enjoyed it, games run fast, VMs run fast, it definitely has the memory and horsepower. The biggest downside is the speakers, they are very quiet even turned up to max volume. I read reviews about how the speaker quality wasn't very good, but wasn't expecting them to be so quiet. My work laptop can fill a small room with ease, but even sitting directly in front of this laptop, it can be hard to understand someone talking. Headphones are almost always a must.

It is a remarkable piece of hardware - very powerful CPU, lots of RAM and dual graphic cards with a powerful GPU. The screen is very sharp and the cooling system seems efficient. Overall - very happy sofar.One of my only concerns is the rigidity and material quality - for such a powerful machine it feels somewhat bendy. But provided a careful treatment I believe it is a great choice. Haven?t tried extensive use on battery yet, so I can?t testify to that part.

Extremely fast, no lagging, cool keyboard backlights! Less than 5 second start-up!

Excellent laptop, exceptional powerful and lightweight. Beautifully designed.Expensive but worth it.Some hassles with memory and a fan giving in, but MSI support was super responsive.

Power house. Liked it better than the Razer because the finish doesn't show as much finger prints and the power adapter doesn't try to burn your house down. 32 gigs installed for cheaper than the equivalent Razer or Aero 15x. Thermal exhaust out the side works better for me.

I got rid of my console for this.I needed something for college that would work for CAD but also allow me to play games if I wished.The battery is good enough that I can have it plugged in over night and not have to worry about bringing my charger. Just excel and basic schooling programs gives about 6 hours of juice.

It?s cool, but I can build a much better desktop with the same amount of money. Got it because it?s a laptop with great specs. Just wish it had more storage. Everything else is awesome bout this msi laptop

I loved this computer for gaming but there?s a lot of screen bleeding on the display that I couldn?t ignor. Especially when playing games with dark scenes. For this price point it?s quite disappointing. The computer did ship fast and delivery was on time.

Plays games just fine. Keys get a bit hot if its a graphic intensive game. The laptop size is impressive.Giving it 2 stars because mine worked for 2 weeks before the speakers blew out. I bought this laptop for a world trip and I really don't have a means to RMA it and pick it back up as i'm constantly on the go.Its also riddled with driver issues, if its not the speakers not working because of bad Realtek drivers, its the keyboard rendering itself useless. If you google the problems I'm experiencing, there are dozens of other MSI owners posting the same stories. This computer feels like it was released prior to solving all the bugs.Honestly speaking this has been the biggest mistake for me as far as an expensive electronic purchase goes. For a $3,000 price tag, it should be a premium product, not a bugged out infuriating paper weight.

Ran great for a while, but fans suddenly stopped running, the computer is overheating, and tech support is essentially nonexistent. The website is hard to navigate, and what is there is broken (see screenshots). I can't register my computer because the website is broken, which apparently means I can't put in a ticket for it.If I can get functioning tech support at some point, and this can be fixed quickly and easily, without disrupting my work schedule, then I might consider a higher rating, but at this point two starts is the honest rating. It is a shame, too, since this computer and this company seem to be highly rated for some reason, and I paid for a higher-end version of this computer based on that reputation. So much for reputation.

I bought this laptop a year ago and things worked well initially. However, after 5 months the GPU fan started to make loud rattling noise. For a normal laptop you just replace the fan and the problem should be resolved, but somehow this laptop has the structure that you need to completely dissemble the mother board to change the fan, which is a very difficult process that I didn't want to try. I called customer service and I learned that I needed to send my laptop to the repairing center for like 3 weeks, which is impossible as this is my only laptop and I needed it every day. So I spent money in local shop replacing the fan. Things worked well for a month until the CPU fan started to make rattling noise just like the GPU fan. Seems like MSI always has fans with poor quality. I don't want to waste money fixing it again and I decided to buy a new one.It's understandable that a gaming laptop can have different issues and I have been fixing my old laptops liking replacing the battery and changing the fans. But one thing you need to know is that this laptop is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to disassemble. So if you are unlucky and received a defective product, you will have to ship it back to the only headquarter of MSI in US and wait for several weeks.

No promo bundle come with the laptop. Disapointed

Got msi laptop today 1/29/19. Turn it on installed all the updates. Laptop reset itself and now all I have a black screen. Nothing works. $3000+ laptop worked 12 minutes. What a joke!

I have now run into a fan noise issue twice with this machine. The keyboard backlighting is also not working as expected for some keys (red and green dead)!The support takes weeks in the best case. I thought MSI had a good reputation for hardware, but this machine has proven me wrong.

Then talked to support, they were rude and ended chat with "warranty expired" ! Do not buy an MSI. It says comes with a 1TB drive, it is actually 2 -512gb drives in RAID 0 !!! This meant that when 1 drive had an issue, my son lost EVERYTHING. liars..

Get a razor, broke within 2 months of use. Never dropped, never damaged. Turns off randomly and never turned back on.
