While you can argue for both sides of the metal vs. plastic debate when it comes to smartphones, there's no doubt that metal phones have a better in-hand feel and overall finish that even premium polycarbonate bodies cannot match. The world's biggest smartphone manufacturer was mocked for its boring designs, until its most recent flagship phones changed that trend - no surprise then that these phones are made out of metal.
Continuing this trend are two new offerings by LeEco, the Le Max and Le 1s. Le 1s, which sold more than 2 million units in China in just two months, is a metal uni-body phone made with Aircraft grade aluminum, which makes it solid and reliable, the CNC processing duration of 3300s is exquisitely crafted for a seamless experience as a whole.
Furthermore, the Le 1s and Le Ma are amongst handful phones in the world with a metal uni-body phone featuring a screw less industrial design, which leaves no trace of the industrial assembling on the design, something even Apple's iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus can't boast about. And although Le 1s is a full-metal phone, its weight is only 169g, 23 grams lighter than the same screen sized 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus.
Metal bodies are typically associated with loss of signals, but LeEco has done its bit to ensure optimum performance. In tests conducted by LeEco, the Le 1S has 18 percent better performance when compared to the iPhone 6 Plus, when it comes to 2G-3G signals, 24 percent performance in 4G signals, and 13 percent superior when it comes to Wi-Fi signals.
The Le Max with its bezel-less all metal design, which has been described by many as "so stunning that it could take your breath away", beat Apple and Sumsung in becoming the best seller in China for a phone over 3,000 Yuan (approximately Rs. 30,500) for two consecutive months last year.
The Le 1s goes in sale in India on Tuesday via Flipkart.
