ZTE Grand S Flex with 5-inch HD display launched

ZTE has launched a new phablet for the European market, dubbed Grand S Flex. The company has announced that the ZTE Grand S Flex will at first be available in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Spain, and the handset will thereafter be released in Finland, Germany and Poland. However, ZTE has not revealed the pricing for the all new phablet.

The ZTE Grand S Flex comes with a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixel) IPS TFT display and weighs around 130 grams. The new device from ZTE runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. The phablet is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8930 processor along with 1GB of RAM. It sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera and also houses a 1-megapixel front-facing camera. The phablet comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, which is non-expandable. There is a 2300mAh battery backing the device.

Other features on the Grand S Flex from ZTE include dual microphones for noise reduction with Dolby sound effect improvement, FM radio, Wi-Fi Direct and also support for FOTA (firmware over the air) upgrades.

Commenting on the launch, AO Wen, General Manager of ZTE Handset European Operation Office, said, "The driving force behind the ZTE Grand S Flex is a combination of modern technology and intuitive handling. Outstanding technology must be met with attractive design to adapt to the needs of our customers. The ZTE Grand S Flex provides this and much more with iconic detail consisting of thin and clear lines that make the handset a stylish must-have."

Recently, ZTE launched three new smartphones, the ZTE Blade Q, ZTE Blade Q Mini and ZTE Blade Q Maxi, all in the company's Blade Q range.
