The company has revealed that the update will be rolling out gradually and full deployment will occur over the next 2 to 3 weeks. Yu also confirmed that a similar incremental update for the Yureka smartphone is in the works. The company however is yet to reveal a timeline for the rollout of the incremental update for the Yu Yureka.
The update primarily brings camera improvements for the Yu Yuphoria (Review | Pictures) adding enhancements for capturing macro shots in even low light conditions.
The update also optimises the proximity sensor's performance and brings patches that will automatically calibrate the sensor every time the handset reboots. Some of the improvements include more responsive touch panel; improved dialler, and supplementary enhancements for the audio chipset. Yu claims that the new firmware has been developed for fast typing and better gesture controls on the Yuphoria.
The incremental update finally also brings a fix for the overheating issues reported by some users recently. "We have made lot of improvements for better device thermal management," Yu said in the forum post.
Not too long ago, Micromax Co-Founder Rahul Sharma had also confirmed that the Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12.1 update for the Yu Yureka and Yuphoria entered final phase of testing.
