Micromax's Yu Televentures has a launch event scheduled for Tuesday, however, its online retail partner has already listed the new smartphone on its site. Snapdeal has listed the Yu Yunique at Rs. 4,999 (a price tag of Rs. 5,499 includes two back covers) on a dedicated flash sale registration page.
The Snapdeal Yu Yunique page, before being pulled down, also listed details of the registration and flash sale. With the 'Register for Sale' button visible, it appears registrations kick off on Tuesday itself, and the page is expected to go live shortly after the launch event's conclusion. The page lists that registrations close at 8pm IST on September 14, and the flash sale itself will commence from 12pm IST on September 15.
Based on the Snapdeal listing and previous tweets by Yu CEO Rahul Sharma, the handset is likely to be a Snapdeal-exclusive. The smartphone listing reveals all the specifications and the features of the Yunique as well.
The dual-SIM supporting Yu Yunique runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box (no Cyanogen OS was listed on the Snapdeal page) , would be featuring a 4.7-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution display with pixel density of 312ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, clocked at 1.2GHz, paired with 1GB LPDDR3 RAM and Adreno 306.

The smartphone includes 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 32GB). In addition, the Yu Yunique features an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with f/2.0 aperture LED flash and a 2-megapixel fixed-focus 83-degree wide-angle front-facing camera with 3P Lens and f/2.4 aperture. The smartphone camera features geo-tagging, face detection, HDR, panorama mode and live filters.
The 4G LTE-enabled Yu Yunique supports TDD Band 40 (2300MHz) and FDD Band 3 (1800MHz) for India alongside Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio and Micro-USB v2.0 connectivity. Backed by a non-removable 2000mAh Li-Po battery, the budget smartphone delivers 7 hours of talk time and 271 hours of standby time.
Looking at the specifications and price point, the handset would go head-to-head against the Lenovo A2010. The handset priced at Rs. 4,990, features all the same specifications like seen in Yu Yunique except the processor and camera. The A2010 features a slightly lower-powered 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735m processor, smaller 5-megapixel rear camera, and 2-megapixel front-facing camera sensor.
