According to a report, Russian manufacturer Yota Devices will be introducing the successor to the YotaPhone (could be called YotaPhone 2) on 24 February at MWC.

Although the report suggests no rumoured or speculated specifications so far, but we expect YotaPhone 2 to be an improvement over its predecessor. Just like the first generation of YotaPhone, the successor is expected to have two displays, a regular touchscreen on one side, and an E-ink display on the other side. Also we expect it to have bigger displays than the original, with the E-ink display also getting full touch capabilities.

Back in December, the Moscow-based Yota Devices launched the YotaPhone, an Android 4.2.2 dual-screen smartphone, in select markets of Europe. The company even plans to sell the phone in 20 countries in 2014, after making debuting the phone in Russia, Austria, France, Germany and Spain.

The first generation YotaPhone has a primary 4.3-inch display with resolution of 720x1280pixels and secondary 4.3-inch E-Ink display with a 360x640 resolution. The E-ink display can stream social media, text messages, maps, weather and breaking news. It also works as an e-book reader.

The YotaPhone features a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon processor coupled with a 2GB of RAM. Dual cameras on the first generation YotaPhone, includes a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 1-megapixel secondary camera on the front. The phone offers LTE connectivity and an 1800mAh battery.

The company had received about 10,000 pre-orders before the launch and later it was priced at 19,990 roubles in Russian stores. Also at launch it was priced at 499 euros and $600 in Europe and the United Arab Emirates respectively.
