Xolo has been working on a brand new Android smartphone user-interface (UI) called Hive for some time now.

The domestic handset maker on Tuesday finally revealed on its Facebook page that it will be launching the Play 8X-1000 smartphone alongside its new Hive UI.

The company, while replying to queries about the Hive UI on Facebook, confirmed that the Xolo Play 8X-1000 smartphone with the new Hive UI will be unveiled in the first week of August. However, Xolo did not reveal any details about the smartphone.

Unfortunately, the company pulled down the post from Facebook; although before being pulled the post also hinted that the Hive UI might come to other Xolo devices that are already available in the market, Fonearena notes.

Xolo, on the other hand, had been promoting its Hive UI with a dedicated page that came with taglines such as "And right now there's something different brewing at Xolo. Stay curious," "Soon you will too. The revolution has begun," and "A revolution is in the works. Stay tuned."

Now, the company has started teasing features of the upcoming Hive UI. Some of the features being touted on the official site include the new launcher, themes, media centre, lockscreen and chameleon widget, and a new forum post called Connect.

Xolo launched it's latest Play smartphone, dubbed Play 6X-1000, at Rs. 14,499 earlier this month.

Last week, the company launched its first Windows Phone 8.1 handset, the Win Q900s, listed on the official site with a 'buy now' option and a price of Rs. 11,999. Xolo also launched the Android version of the handset, called Xolo Q900s, priced at Rs. 9,999.
