Xolo on Monday launched a new budget smartphone, the Xolo Era, priced at Rs. 4,444. Available in Black colour variant, the smartphone registrations will start on Thursday. The handset will be exclusively sold by Snapdeal, as mentioned on the company's Facebook post image.
The Android 4.4 KitKat-based Xolo Era is a dual-SIM supporting smartphone that features a 5-inch IPS display with an FWVGA (480x854 pixels) resolution and a pixel density of roughly 196ppi. The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor (unspecified) clubbed with 1GB of RAM.
The smartphone includes 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). The handset also features an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Xolo Era is backed by a 2100mAh battery.

Connectivity options of the Xolo Era include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality, Bluetooth v4.0, FM radio, Micro-USB 2.0, USB-OTG and GPS/ A-GPS. The smartphone, as per its listing on the e-commerce website, would come with an USB-OTG cable and back cover.
Xolo is also set to launch its new sub-brand 'Black' on Friday. The company is expected to launch its first Black-branded smartphone at the event. The new Xolo Black smartphones would not be sold via traditional retail channels instead will be an available online via the company's Flipkart e-commerce partner. One of the highlights of the smartphone is said to be dual rear camera setup with depth-sensing support, similar to the one seen in the HTC One (M8).
