The first of the new teasers (See above) shared by Mi India's official Twitter handle tips further details about the premium build of the smartphone, with an image of a cactus plant in a field and one of a carpet of grass. The tweet said, "Does every flagship phone feel good when you touch it?" accompanied by the hashtag "I disagrees". The company possibly is teasing smooth build material of the rear of the device launching on Thursday, and quite evidently is taking a dig at the rough rear finish of the OnePlus One 64GB edition.
Another tweet talks about how will the phone comfortably fit in one hand and is accompanied by an image showing a basketball being held by two hands and a cricket ball held by single hand. The second tweet (See below) said, "Do all flagship phones fit comfortably in your hands?" This teaser is almost certainly pointing to a comfortable form factor, i.e., a screen size below 5-inches, which matches with the 4.9-inch display tipped for the as-yet-unannounced Xiaomi Mi 4i handset.
The last few teasers shared by Xiaomi India tipped the new smartphone's large battery capacity, a premium build, and a high resolution display, teased last week.
Beyond the teasers, Xiaomi has not revealed much else about its upcoming device launch on Thursday. However, with the use of 'i' everywhere in promotional materials, the event invite, and teasers, the launch of the much-leaked Xiaomi Mi 4i handset is expected.
Preliminary leaks have suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 4i will feature Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, a 64-bit 1.65GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 4.9-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 4.8-megapixel front camera, and 16GB of built-in storage.
Xiaomi's 2014 flagship smartphone, the Mi 4, ahead of Thursday's announcement received its first price cut in India, making the smartphone Rs. 2,000 cheaper than its launch price. The company has already confirmed that the global premiere of Xiaomi will see CEO and Founder Lei Jun, President and Co-Founder Lin Bin, and VP Xiaomi Global Hugo Barra, in attendance.
