Xiaomi announced its MIU 10 software in June, beta tested it for a while, and has been rolling out the stable version to several devices since the last few months. The latest to get the MIUI 10 stable update include Xiaomi Redmi 3S, Redmi 3S Prime, Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi Note 5, and Redmi Note 5 Pro as well. Now, users in India are reporting that the Redmi Note 3 users are also receiving an MIUI 10 stable update as well, and the company has since confirmed the same.
Redmi Note 3 users have taken to the forums to announce that they have received the MIUI 10 stable update, and have shared screenshots of the same. Redmi Note 3 users are receiving the MIUI 10.1.1.0.MHOMIFI update which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It brings along the July security patch, and the screenshots suggest that the new update is a 261MB in size. In a forum post dated December 21, Xiaomi has also confirmed that the MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM for the Redmi Note 3 is now rolling out, also providing a changelog apart from download links for the Fastboot ROM and Recovery ROM.
For more details on how to install the MIUI 10 update for the Redmi 5A via Fastboot and Recovery ROMs, you can refer to our previous guide. Do also backup your smartphone, you can learn more about that here, as the manual installation process wipes data.
The MIUI 10 stable changelog notes an all-new UI tailored for full screen devices, a natural sound system, revamp to system apps (including Clock and Notes), optimisation for Settings, and updated Android Security Patch. The update also brings camera optimisation wherein a new XXL text size option is made available. It also fixed an issue where the previews didn't match photos in some cases, and an issue with gridlines in the full screen mode has also been fixed. Settings menu has also been optimised with a new design, and the Home Screen shortcut option has also been added. Lastly, the update also fixed an issue where the recording status wasn't updated in the Notification shade when a recording was paused.
The update is rolling out over-the-air (OTA), and it may be a while before all users are able to update to the latest version. You can go to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for updates to keep checking manually. It is recommended to update the 2016 launched Redmi Note 3 after backing up data, under a strong Wi-Fi connection, and while the phone is on charge.
