The Xiaomi Redmi 3S comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, compared to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage on its more expensive sibling. The Redmi 3S Prime also comes with a built-in fingerprint scanner. The highlight of the two smartphones is the massive 4100mAh battery.

Last week, Xiaomi said it sold 90,000 units of the Redmi 3S Prime in less than eight minutes during the first open sale of the smartphone. It's not known how many units of the two smartphones will be up for grabs on Wednesday.

Other specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime include a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC with Adreno 505 GPU, storage expandability via microSD card (hybrid dual-SIM - nano + micro), a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, 4G connectivity with VoLTE support, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 7.5.
