The teaser image also spilled some of the details of the handset such as the screen size to be 5-inch and a metal unibody chassis.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 last week reportedly passed Tenaa, the Chinese telecommunications certification authority, with some innards detailed. Bearing model name Mi 2015811, the listing confirmed most of the specifications such a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution TFT display; an octa-core CPU under-the-hood clocked at 1.5GHz clubbed with 2GB of RAM; 4G LTE support; a 13-megapixel rear camera; 5-megapixel front-facing camera; 16GB of inbuilt storage; expandable via microSD card up to 128GB; 139.3x69.6x8.5mm, and weigh 143 grams. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and is said to come in Silver colour variant.
According to the leaked images from Tenaa, the Redmi 3 was seen featuring a metal unibody design with Mi branding at the back. Also seen in the images was the rear camera accompanied by an LED flash. Unfortunately, the Tenaa images didn't include textured design. The front was seen featuring capacitive navigation buttons for settings, home, and back. The right panel purportedly showed that the Redmi 3 would pack all physical buttons on the right panel.
