The Xiaomi Mi 4 (16GB) will be available at a price of Rs. 17,999, down from previous price tag of Rs. 19,999, while the 64GB model will retail at Rs. 21,999, down from previous price tag of Rs. 23,999. The new prices will be effective starting Thursday noon and will be available at Flipkart alongside The Mobile Store.
Xiaomi India Head, Manu Kumar Jain confirmed the news via Twitter and said, "Mi4PriceDrop - Great news! Starting today 12 noon, we're dropping the price of Mi 4: 16GB will now go for Rs 17,999, n 64GB for Rs 21,999."
In another tweet, Jain also revealed that this is a permanent price cut for the Xiaomi Mi 4. He also confirmed that the Mi 4 will soon be available at its new prices via Snapdeal and Amazon India.

The Chinese handset company earlier this month announced two new partnerships in India, which ended the exclusive partnership with Flipkart since it launched in July 2014, but now, the Mi phones will be available on Snapdeal and Amazon apart from Flipkart. The new price cut also brings the price of Mi 4 64GB down to the price of the '2014 flagship killer' OnePlus One 64GB variant. The Mi 4 16GB variant is now also Rs. 1,000 cheaper than the 16GB variant of the OnePlus One, which still retails for Rs. 18,999. Alongside the announcements of the new retail partnerships, the company had announced special discounts and bundled offers for its devices in India for the Mi Fan Festival on April 1 - the same Rs. 2,000 discount for the Mi 4 smartphones was provided as this week's announced price cut.
It's worth noting that the price cut comes just a week away from the company's global event on April 23, which is likely to see the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 4i, a new variant of the Mi 4 handset. It also worth nothing that the company announced a similar price in China earlier this month, but only for the 16GB variant.
To recall, the Xiaomi Mi 4 (Review | Pictures) runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the company's MIUI 6 skin on top. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz alongside 3GB of RAM. The Mi 4 sports the same 5-inch full-HD display (1080x1920 pixels) found on the Mi 3; although this time the company has used a JDI OGS full lamination display. There is a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera on the Xiaomi Mi 4, with both sporting Sony's stacked CMOS sensors. The smartphone is backed by a 3080mAh Li-ion battery.
