Xiaomi has started rolling-out an update for its Mi 3 smartphone, which went on its third flash sale in India this Tuesday.
The Xiaomi Mi 3 update carries build number MIUI KXDMIBF22.0, and is available over-the-air (OTA) - it can also be downloaded via the MIUI forum.
The Xiaomi Mi 3 MIUI KXDMIBF22.0 update deals mostly with bug fixes for the Calendar, Email and Messaging apps. The changelog was posted on the MIUI forum by administrator KateZ.
While the 591MB update resolves few errors faced while opening the Xiaomi Mi 3's Calendar app, it also fixes the bugs that prevented incoming messages from being displayed on the home screen pop-up window.
The OTA update for the Xiaomi Mi 3 fixes a number of errors in the smartphone's email app such as an empty inbox, the inability to download images from email when automatically connected to Wi-Fi, not forwarding mails predictably, and more. It also brings a new feature to the Email app - a 'Resend all' function in the Outbox. The full list of other fixes and optimisations can be found at the end of the article.
Xiaomi said it would make 15,000 units of the Mi 3 smartphone available for the flash sale on Tuesday. The Chinese handset maker on Monday also revealed that 100,000 people have already registered for Tuesday's flash sale.
Last week, Xiaomi, often called as 'China's Apple', detailed the total number of Mi 3 units sold in India so far. The company confirmed that it sold 20,000 Mi 3 units in the two previous flash sales on Flipkart. Xiaomi had claimed that the first batch of Mi 3 smartphones in India was sold out within 40 minutes of its availability. The second batch of Mi 3 handsets was sold out within 5 seconds.
The Xiaomi Mi 3, priced at Rs. 13,999, runs a highly tweaked version of Android 4.4 KitKat, with MIUI version 5 on top. It comes with a 5-inch full-HD LCD display (1080x1920 pixels) offering a pixel density of 441ppi; a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8274AB) processor; 2GB of RAM; Adreno 330 GPU; 16GB of inbuilt storage; 13-megapixel rear camera; 2-megapixel camera, and 3050mAh battery.
