The leaked image (via GizmoChina) is claimed to be of the unannounced Xiaomi Max. It shows the phablet to sport a similar design language to the company's flagship, the Mi 5. Much like the flagship, the Max is seen featuring a home button which can be expected to integrate the fingerprint scanner. Apart from the front panel, the rear camera setup on the Max phablet also looks identical to the Xiaomi Mi 5.
There are a few differences as well. Unlike the Mi 5 which sports a 5.15-inch screen, the Xiaomi Max is said to feature a massive 6.4-inch display which will make it the biggest smartphone in the Mi range - in terms of screen size. Another rumoured specification of the Max says that the handset will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, similar to the Mi 5.
Details about the handset are limited as of now, however, with what's been revealed, the Xiaomi Max looks like an enhanced version of the Mi 5. We will however have to wait for the company's confirmation of the handset.
We first heard about the 'Xiaomi Max' when the Chinese company ran a poll in its home country, asking users what should be the name of its next smartphone. Out of the four options available to users, 'Xiaomi Max' received the most votes.
Recently, the alleged front panel of the Xiaomi Max smartphone also made rounds on the Internet. However, the earlier leaked image missed on the physical home button on the front panel.
