A woman was electrocuted while charging her mobile phone on Friday in Assam's Kamrup (Rural) district, police said.

The woman received a severe jolt the moment she put the mobile charger to the switch and fell unconscious in her house in Pitambar Hat Bajali village of the district.

The woman, identified as Lalita Kumar, was declared brought dead at the Rangiya Civil Hospital, sources added.
