Joe Belfiore, Corporate Vice President, Operating Systems Group at Microsoft, revealed at the Build conference that Microsoft is on track for a summer release of Windows 10 and clarified that it will initially arrive for PCs followed by other devices - smartphones, HoloLens, Xbox, and Surface devices.

Belfiore said (via Verge), "We're on track for this summer, but you should definitely have this notion in mind of Windows as a service. Our phone builds have not been as far along as our PC builds. We're adapting the phone experiences later than we're adding the PC experiences." He went on to suggest that Windows 10 for PC will miss out on some features at launch.

"There are devices and features that will come not on launch date, but following it. From the device view, our main focus is to kick off the Windows 10 launch wave with a great launch on the PC," he added.

Unfortunately, Microsoft is yet to reveal an exact time frame for the Windows 10 PC release. Belfiore said, "We're in that finishing up phase of the project, and we're going to continue to get builds out to insiders."

At Build 2015, Microsoft showcased the HoloLens, Continuum as well as announced Microsoft Edge alongside detailing the Windows Universal Platform. Microsoft separately detailed upcoming changes to Windows 10 for phones.
