A Twitter user claimed to see multiple Live Tile options such as a bigger square tile on the Start Screen alongside a double tall tile. Microsoft's Engineering General Manager, Gabriel Aul while replying to the user further shed some on the company's plans saying they are still experimenting with Live Tile options.
Aul however did not confirm whether Windows 10 for phones will feature double tall tiles on the Start Screen adding that, "Even the double tall isn't for sure." Lastly, he said, "You'll see more and can give feedback," indicating that the future builds might feature more number of live tile options.
To recall, the first build of Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones initially supports limited number of devices including the Lumia 630, Lumia 635, Lumia 636, Lumia 638, Lumia 730, and Lumia 830. Microsoft has revealed that support for more phones would be added in each new build.
Some of the highlights of the first preview build include support for full-size background image for the Start screen; users can customise the Start screen with a background image of their choice. The Action Centre has more quick actions which can be expanded up to three rows. To compare, Windows Phone 8.1 had four quick actions.
Microsoft also added interactive notifications, which will enable users to take action directly like dismissing an alarm, or seeing images for maps. Another notable feature was the enhanced speech-to-text capability. The Photos app would show a set of all local and OneDrive saved images.
