The white version of the BlackBerry Passport is now up for pre-order on the company's Canadian e-store at CAD 699 (roughly $622.22 or Rs. 38,450). A red variant also appeared in rendered images over the weekend via a Twitter user, though the company has not confirmed details of its availability.
The pre-order page indicates that the white BlackBerry Passport will begin shipping from December 7 this year. There is no difference in the specifications of the device compared to the original black version.
As for the red variant of the handset, which was first displayed a couple of weeks ago (via Phonearena) by CEO John Chen during the company's BlackBerry for Enterprise event, new renders have emerged on Twitter via a user named @Kyle27_. CrackBerry, which first spotted the renders, added that users might be able to get their hands on the red version of BlackBerry's current flagship device on Black Friday, which is this week.
The BlackBerry Passport is the first phone in the company's lineup to come with the new BlackBerry 10.3 OS, which brings such features as BlackBerry Assistant, and a brand new BlackBerry Hub with Instant Actions. With BlackBerry 10.3, users also get access to the Amazon Appstore for Android.
Launched in September, some of the key feature of Passport are its 4.5-inch 1:1 1440x1440-pixel IPS LCD screen; three-line physical keyboard with a capacitive touch surface; 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU; 3GB of RAM; 32GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB); 13-megapixel rear OIS camera with BSI sensor; 2-megapixel front camera, and 3,450mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 30 hours of mixed-use battery life.
