Vivo Y83 Pro has reportedly been launched as the company's latest smartphone in India. The Chinese manufacturer is set to host an event in India on September 6, where the Vivo V11 is expected to be launched. However, the company appears to have decided to release an upgrade to the Vivo Y83 that was launched in India earlier this year, following a China launch. As per latest reports, specifications of the Vivo Y83 Pro remain quite similar to the previous variant. However, there are a few changes in the new smartphone by Vivo, the most notable one being in the camera setup. While the Vivo Y83 had a single rear camera, the new model comes with dual cameras. In terms of price in India, the Vivo Y83 Pro costs Rs. 1,000 more than the Vivo Y83.
An established Mumbai-based mobile retailer, Mahesh Telecom, in a tweet, said that the Vivo Y83 Pro has been launched in India. The retailer claimed that the new smartphone is priced at Rs. 15,990. In comparison, the Vivo Y83 price in India was set at Rs. 14,990 at its launch in May this year. Notably, the smartphone comes in only one variant in India. However, there has been no confirmation from Vivo regarding the new smartphone.
As per the reports, the Vivo Y83 runs Funtouch OS 4.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The handset sports a 6.22-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) FullView 2.0 IPS display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a display notch. The Vivo Y83 Pro comes with 4GB of RAM, but there is no information regarding the processor that powers the smartphone.
In the camera department, the Vivo Y83 bears a dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, the phone sports an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Additionally, it comes with an AI Face beauty feature. In terms of storage, the handset gets 64GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via microSD card. It packs in a 3260mAh battery under the hood.
