Vivo has silently launched a new X-series smartphone, the X5S L aka X5S, in China. The new Vivo X5S L smartphone is available to buy starting Tuesday at CNY 2,498 (approximately Rs. 25,100).

The new Vivo smartphone features a thickness of just 6mm that is slightly more than the Vivo X5Max, currently the 'slimmest smartphone in the world' with an incredible 4.75mm thickness.

The Vivo X5S L aka X5S is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs Android 4.4 KitKat with the company's proprietary Funtouch OS UI on top. It features a 5-inch (720x1280 pixels) HD IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek (MT6752) processor (unspecified clock speed) coupled with 2GB of RAM.

It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is non-expandable. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera. On the connectivity front, the Vivo X5S L includes 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options.

The smartphone packs a 2250mAh battery. The Vivo X5S L measures 143.10x71x6.30mm and is listed in White colour.

Last month, Vivo launched its X5Max smartphone at CNY 2,998 (approximately Rs. 30,000).

The Vivo X5Max is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (quad-core 1.7GHz + quad-core 1GHz) coupled with 2GB of RAM. The Vivo X5 Max runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat with the company's proprietary Funtouch OS 2.0 UI on top. Vivo's Funtouch UI is the company's take on Android, similar to what Chinese companies Oppo and Xiaomi have done with ColorOS and MIUI respectively.

It features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display. The smartphone includes 16GB inbuilt storage which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and Sony IMX214 sensor, while also housing a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The X5Max is a dual-SIM (Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM) device and supports 4G LTE on both the SIMs.
