HP is holding a press event in New Delhi, India on Thursday where it will unveil the HP Slate6 and Slate7 tablets with voice calling, its big vehicles for comeback in the Android space. NDTV Gadgets has obtained exclusive details about the HP Slate6 ahead of its launch.
According to the information we've received, the HP Slate6 will come with a 6-inch IPS LCD display with 720x1280 resolution. It will be powered by a Marvell PXA1088 SoC with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The HP Slate6 will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and sport dimensions of 165x82.6x8.98mm and weigh 160 grams.
The dual-SIM device HP Slate6 will come with 16GB expandable storage (up to 32GB) and 1GB RAM. The Slate6 will have a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera with HD video recording support. It will also sport a 3.5mm audio jack, a Micro-USB port, and Stereo FM radio. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 3.0 EDR, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and GPS. As you would expect, the Slate6 will come with a G-sensor, gyro, ecompass, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.
The Slate6 will be powered by a 3000mAh battery, which is rated at 10 hours of talk time, and 7 hours of video playback time by HP.
The HP Slate6 will be priced in the Indian market at Rs. 22,990 ($370 approximately).
