The iPhone 4S was launched at midnight and is now available in stores across India through service providers Airtel and Aircel.
The phone was announced by Apple on October 4 and has been available for preorder in India since 18th November.
The phone's steep price tag has made headlines the last few days - the 16GB version costs Rs 44,500 while the 32GB version costs Rs 50,900. In comparison, the phones retail in USA at Rs 33,740 and Rs 38,940.
