Swipe has launched a new budget smartphone, called the Konnect ME, priced at Rs. 3,999. The new Swipe smartphone is available exclusively via Snapdeal.

The Swipe Konnect ME is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone which runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It comes with a 4.5-inch (480x854 pixels) FWVGA IPS display with a pixel density of 240ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek (unspecified chipset) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

It comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera also on board.

On the connectivity front, the Swipe Konnect ME offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The smartphone packs an 2450mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 12 hours of talk time, and up to 1080 hours of standby time. It measures 134.6x66.7x10.6mm; weighs 92 grams, and is listed in White colour.

Commenting on the launch, Shripal Gandhi, Founder and CEO, Swipe Technologies, said, "Affordable technology is our unstated mission and Konnect ME priced at Rs. 3,999 is a step in that direction. Telecom operators as well device makers are working in unison towards an India that is on mobile internet."

At a price of Rs. 3,999, Swipe's new affordable smartphone will be up against the likes of Wiio's Wi Star 3G smartphone that was launched in January at a similar of Rs. 3,999.
