Spice has launched two new Android 4.4 KitKat-based smartphones, the Stellar 520 and Stellar 526 at Rs. 8,999 and Rs. 11,499 respectively.

The Spice Stellar 520 and Spice Stellar 526 will join company's recently launched Android 4.4 KitKat-based smartphones, Spice Stellar Mi-497 and Spice Stellar 600.

The Spice Stellar 520 smartphone offers dual-SIM (GSM-GSM) support with both the SIMs supporting 3G connectivity. The new Android smartphone from Spice features a 5-inch HD IPS display with a 720x1280 pixel resolution. A quad-core processor (unspecified chipset) clocked at 1.3GHz powers the device with 1GB of RAM. It sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera, while there is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The smartphone comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The Spice Stellar 520 supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE and 3G connectivity options. It is backed by a 2000mAh battery with no word on talk time and standby time.

Commenting on the launch, T M Ramakrishnan, CEO, Devices, Spice Retail Ltd, said "With the launch of Stellar 520, we aim to give the consumers a platform of choice by offering products with premium looks in the affordable range. With the enrolment of latest technology into our products, we aim at intensifying our customer base and build on customer loyalty."

The Spice Stellar 526, on the other hand, is the company's first hexa-core processor-powered handset. It is backed by a 1.5GHz hexa-core (unspecified chipset) processor alongside 1GB of RAM.

Micromax's first hexa-core processor smartphone, the Canvas HD Plus recently went on sale at Rs. 13,500, while Karbonn launched the Titanium Hexa, a hexa-core chipset based smartphone earlier this year at Rs. 16,990.

The Stellar 526 offers dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support and features a 5-inch IPS display with HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 3.2-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.

The smartphone comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, AGPS, EDGE, GPRS and 3G connectivity options. It is backed by a 2500mAh battery and measure 143.6x71.7x8.3mm. The Spice Stellar 526 weighs 162 grams and is available in White colour.
