Spice Smart Flo Mettle Icon with 5-inch display, 3G support launched at Rs. 6,999

Spice has expanded its Smart Flo smartphone series with the introduction of the Smart Flo Mettle Icon (Mi-506), which has been launched at Rs. 6,999.

The Smart Flo Mettle Icon runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. It offers dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support with 3G connectivity on both the SIMs and also supports dual standby. It features a 5-inch display with FWVGA (480x854 pixels) resolution.

A dual-core processor powers the smartphone, clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with a Mali 400 GPU and 512MB of RAM. The Smart Flo Mettle Icon sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.

The Smart Flo Mettle Icon comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, and can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, and GPRS/EDGE connectivity, and is backed by an 1800mAh battery.

Commenting on the launch, T M Ramakrishnan, CEO - Devices, Spice Retail Limited said, "Spice has been the enabler for its consumers to dream big. Taking the idea forward is this new product from the Spice stable that gives its consumers the sheer visual pleasure of watching media content and internet browsing on a large 5inch screen, the most desired upgradable screen size for today's consumers. With the launch of the Mettle Icon, Spice aims to increase its smartphone market share considerably."

In February, Spice launched its entry-level Android smartphone, the Smart Flo Poise at Rs. 6,499. The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean-based smartphone is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device that also supports dual standby.

The Spice Smart Flo Poise features a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 480x854 pixels. The Smart Flo Poise is powered by a dual-core 1.3GHz processor (unspecified chipset) alongside 512MB of RAM.
