Sony had unveiled its Xperia Z and Xperia ZL smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013. Just a few days ago, Sony Xperia Z (SO-02E) started retailing in Japan through the telecom operator NTT DoCoMo for 80,430 Yen. Furthermore, it is expected that this smartphone will be available in Europe by the end of February and make its way to India by March.
However, for now there is no news of when Xperia ZL will be available in other markets. Just to recap, Sony Xperia ZL sports a 5-inch screen with 1080p display, which has 443ppi. It also comes with Sony BRAVIA video processor.
The device will run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) out of the box along with a layer of Timescape UI. There is a 13-megapixel rear camera along with Sony's EXMOR RS sensor. Xperia ZL comes with 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card. There is 2370 mAh Li-Ion battery on-board. Unlike the Xperia Z, this smartphone is not dust and water resistant.
According to Telecompaper, Xperia ZL will be available through Phone House (both in stores and online) from April in black and white colour options. Guess one will have to wait a bit longer for the red version of Xperia ZL.
