An alleged press render image of Sony Xperia Z1 has been leaked courtesy of GSM insider. The report also claims the device will come in three colour variants - Black, White and Purple which is identical to the colour options available available on another flagship smartphone, Sony Xperia Z. The new render images are very much in-line with the previous leaks.
GSM insider also claims that the design of Sony Xperia Z1 is very similar to that of the Sony Xperia Z, except that the Z1 is slightly thinner.
Additionally, a Taiwanese supplier website has also leaked the metal chassis of the alleged Xperia Z1. The image reveals that the device houses keys and slots like power button, volume rocker key, physical camera button and microSD card around the metal frame. The site further notes that each key or slot on the device has a waterproof layer.
Earlier, Sony released the second teaser image of its upcoming smartphone that partially revealed the design and also confirmed that the device is water resistant.
The alleged Sony Xperia Z1 is rumoured to be unveiled next month in Berlin on the sidelines of IFA.
Rumoured specifications of the Xperia Z1 include a 5.0-inch full-HD display, a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM. It may include 16GB internal storage and a 3000mAh battery. The device is said to run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The highlight of Sony's next flagship smartphone is said to be its camera, as it features a 20-megapixel Exmor RS rear camera that is expected to sport a Sony G-lens and BIONZ image processor.
