The update was first spotted by Xperiaguide which notes that the new 14.1.B.1.510 firmware update is being rolled out to the Xperia Z Ultra C6802 HSPA+ variant.
The site also notes that the Android 4.2.2 14.1.B.1.510 firmware update has been reported by users in countries like Indonesia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. It also suggests that the latest update is a major one and is available via the PC Companion desktop tool.
Some of the major highlights of the latest firmware update include X-Reality for mobile that enhances the quality of photos and videos, superior auto mode being included in camera settings, improved battery life, enhanced video quality, new widgets for Clock, Alarm Clock, Calculator, a refreshed messaging app and White background UI.
Recently, Sony Xperia S, Xperia SL and Xperia Acro S smartphones, launched earlier by the company, received a firmware update.
The new firmware update was rolled out over the air (OTA). However, Sony did not reveal any plans of releasing the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for the three Xperia devices. Earlier this year, the Sony Xperia SP HSPA+ and LTE versions also received a firmware update.
