Sony's alleged next flagship smartphone, the Xperia Honami aka i1 seems to be a real attention seeker.

We have seen rumours claiming that Sony may unveil its next flagship smartphone on September 4 in Berlin, with a series of related leaks. Now a new rumour claims that the smartphone will be capable of capturing 4K videos.

Chinese publication Vgooo has posted a presentation slide which apparently claims that the Sony Xperia Honami would be capable of shooting 4K video with a resolution of up to 2000x4000 pixels. The slide was first posted on Chinese social networking site Weibo, though the original post has now apparently been deleted.

However, Engadget notes that there is a small discrepancy in the leaked slide that indicates the alleged Xperia i1 aka Honami's 4K video will have a resolution of 2000x4000 pixels. However, Sony's defined standard Ultra HD resolution for its 4K TV is 2160x3840 pixels, which puts the authenticity of the slide in some doubt.

Vgooo has also posted a number of images of the Xperia i1 aka Honami and the device has also been pictured alongside iPhone 5.

Earlier rumours have suggested that the device may sport a 5.0-inch full-HD display. It's likely to be powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM. The device is said to feature a 20-megapixel Exmor RS camera that is expected to sport a Sony G-lens and BIONZ image processor. The phone is also expected to feature a 2.0-megapixel front facing camera as well. It may include 16GB internal storage and a 3000mAh battery. The device is said to run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It is also being rumoured that the device would be dust-and water-resistant.
