The new media applications being introduced in the update are "Walkman", "Album" and "Movies." Company has also added a new 'glove mode' on Xperia sola in this update, this feature is an extension of 'floating touch' technology on the smartphone and will allow users to operate Xperia sola in the cold whilst wearing gloves.
The update release is starting today and will go on over the weekend. Company will also reveal the software kits as they're released on its support website from next week.
Sony has stated that consumers will have to connect their Xperia phones to a PC or Mac in order to complete the update as it is not available over-the-air.
