Replying to a Sony Xperia M2 user about the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, Sony apologised for not updating devices other than those in the Xperia Z series.
Sony's tweet reads, "Hi. We can advise that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is going to be released for the entire Xperia Z series only, we do apologise."
But replying to another user, Sony's Twitter handle suggested that the update might also come to other Sony devices, but didn't specify when or which devices exactly. Its tweet noted, "we can't comment on upgrades for further products at this time - please stay tuned to our blog for the latest information."
To remind you, Sony has already started updating the Xperia Z series devices to Android 5.0 Lollipop from last month. It had first promised that update in October last year, alongside Google's official announcement for the Lollipop OS.
At CES 2015 in January, Mike Fasulo, President of Sony Electronics, had confirmed the Android 5.0 Lollipop update rollout for the Xperia Z range for February. The popular Sony Xperia Z lineup includes devices namely the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
