Samsung is anticipated to launch the latest device in its Z Series of Tizen-powered smartphones at an event in New Delhi on Tuesday that's scheduled to begin at 11:30am IST. Tipped to be called the Samsung Z2, the smartphone has been the subject of
numerous leaks in recent weeks.
Nothing is known about the Samsung Z2 from official sources, but based on recent rumours, Samsung will launch its My Money Transfer app with the smartphone - a feature that's supposedly exclusive for the Indian market. The Tizen-powered Samsung Z2 is also rumoured to come with include WhatsApp and Telegram as pre-installed apps.
Recent leaks
tipped that the Samsung Z2 will sport a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) Amoled display, a 1500mAh battery, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, dual-SIM support, and 4G with VoLTE connectivity support.
Previous
leaks however indicated that Samsung's latest Tizen-powered smartphone will sport a 4.5-inch display, a 2000mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, dual-SIM support, as well as 4G with VoLTE support. A leak also tipped a Rs. 4,499 price point.
The smartphone was also leaked in alleged images, showing a design similar to the
Samsung Z3, but featuring a textured back panel. Finally, the smartphone was also leaked in a
promotional video suggesting features like Ultra Data Saving Mode. The video once again showed a design close to the Z3.
To refresh, Samsung back in January last year
launched its first Tizen-based smartphone, the
Samsung Z1, in India. In October, it launched its successor - the Samsung Z3. The Samsung Z2 will be the third smartphone in the company's Tizen range.
