Samsung has posted a first real
image of the Galaxy S IV via its
SamsungMobileUS Twitter account, though it appears quite overshadowed with darkness. It looks like the Pebble Blue version blending in deeply with the dark background, so it's hard to tell.
But this is the first real look at the device from Samsung as opposed to the infinite leaks we've seen in the past. The image is captioned, "The countdown for #TheNextBigThing has begun. Who's ready for the Global Unpacked Event on March 14?"
The
first teaser video for the Samsung Galaxy S IV was pretty vague with an opening line saying, "It is going to be the most amazing product since the TVs went colour. It is going to be very exciting isn't it?" The message in the end reads, "Be ready 4 the next Galaxy".
Now there's a second teaser titled '[SAMSUNG UNPACKED] Be Ready 4 The Next Galaxy (Part 2)', sort of continuing from where the last one left off but is no different from the first. The teaser mostly reiterates the first part featuring a young child tasked with being Samsung's "secret messenger." The video hints at the possibility of the S IV having multiple colour options. It isn't obvious but the kid in the video says, "It's my favourite colour".
It also cannot be completely neglected as Samsung is offering colour variants for most of its high-end smartphones such as the Galaxy S III, the Galaxy Note II and even the Galaxy S III mini, though they are restricted only to certain launch regions.
Just to recap, according to previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S IV will be packing in Exynos Octa 5410 processor, which clocks in at 1.8GHz with 2GB RAM along with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. There will be options of 16/32/64GB for internal storage.
The Samsung Galaxy S IV is likely to come with
4.99-inch full-HD (1920X1080) display and run Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. There will be 13-megapixel rear camera on-board and a 2.1-megapixel in the front. Connectivity options will include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and
wireless charging support.
More recent leaks also indicated the presence of Smart features like
Smart Scroll and Smart Pause, Black and White colour variants, new green PHOLED display technology,
floating touch and a Photosphere-like function called Samsung Orb.
We'd recommend you to mark your calendars for
March 14, in case you haven't already to witness the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S IV at Times Square, New York.
