Samsung has reportedly begun developing Android Oreo update for its Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones.
According to a report by Sammobile, citing their reliable sources, the South Korean company is hopefully planning to release the Android Oreo update for its premium smartphone users as early as possible. The firmware version for Android Oreo update for Samsung Galaxy S8 will allegedly be G955FXXU1BQI1 whereas the Galaxy S8+ is said to have G950FXXU1BQI1 as its version. As of now, it is not clear as to when Samsung would finally be pushing Android Oreo updates to these smartphones, at a time when Nougat update for some of Samsung's mid-range and budget smartphones is still pending.
Also going by its recent practice, Samsung may open a beta testing programme for some users where it will let the users test the Android Oreo update on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, just like what it did for Galaxy S7 and Gadgets S7 Edge. After the beta testing is successfully over, a stable and final version of Android Oreo update will start rolling out broadly. However, since Samsung also customises Android to include its own apps and functionalities, all of the stock Android Oreo features may or may not make through in the update.
Google's Android 8.0 Oreo comes with improvements over the present and dominant Android Nougat versions. It comes with features such as faster booting, improved battery life, Autofill for most apps, picture-in-picture (PIP) mode, notification dots with colour distinctions, and Android Instant apps. Alongside, new Unicode 5.0 emojis, notification channels, ability to snooze notifications, adaptive app icons, smart text selection with additional options, new installing apps interface, better fonts, and ambient display will also be a part of the Android 8.0 Oreo update.
