Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge purported specifications have been tipped in a new leak. The leaked specifications have been posted by a tipster on Weibo.

According to the new leak, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will come with a 5.1-inch display while the Galaxy Edge will feature a 5.5-inch curved display. Both the smartphones are said to sport Super Amoled display with QHD (1440x2560 pixels) resolution. In a separate post, a tipster on Weibo suggests that while there are several reports about the display sizes for the Galaxy S7, and claims it to be 5.2-inch.

The handsets are rumoured to be powered by Exynos 8 octa-core or Snapdragon 820 processor. The latest leak further adds that the handsets may come with 2.3GHz quad-core + 1.6GHz quad-core. Both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are said to include 4GB of RAM.

The handsets are said to come in 32GB and 64GB storage variants while are claimed to support expandable storage via microSD card (up to 200GB). On the camera front, both the smartphones are rumoured to feature a 12-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture. Unfortunately, there is no word on the front camera. Under the hood, the Galaxy S7 is said to include a 3000mAh battery while the Galaxy S7 Edge will feature a 3600mAh battery. To compare, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ featured 2550mAh and 3000mAh batteries.

Of course, as with all rumours and leaks, we advise readers to take the above information about the Samsung Galaxy S7 with a pinch of salt, as the company has yet to make any announcements about its new flagship smartphone and the credibility of the sources cannot be independently verified.

An earlier report had suggested that the Samsung Unpacked 2016 event, where the company is expected to reveal its next flagship, will take place on February 20. To recall, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were launched at MWC last year.
