Samsung, since the launch of its Galaxy S4 has been pushing out variants for its flagship handsets with the Active or Zoom moniker. Following the trend, when Galaxy S6 was launched earlier this year without water-resistant and dust resistant capabilities, it was pretty much expected that users might find the required features in the Galaxy S6 Active variant. While we have already seen the leaked press images of the handset and its listing on the company website, this time the smartphone's alleged user agent profile throws some more light on its specifications.
Spotted with codename SM-G890A, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active as per the UAP spotted by Napidroid website (via Phonearena) is seen to sport a QHD (1440x2560 pixels) resolution display. This is clearly an upgrade from the full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display found in its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. Other details, including display type and size, remain a mystery.
Previous reports mentioned the Galaxy S6 Active to sport a 3500mAh battery, which is 950mAh more than the Samsung Galaxy S6 and 700mAh more than the Galaxy S5 Active. Besides the increased battery capacity, the handset is expected to equip mostly the same specifications as the Galaxy S6.
For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S6 features a 5.1-inch Quad-HD (1440x2560 pixels) Super Amoled display with a pixel density of 577ppi, octa-core mobile processor with 64-bit capability, 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS and f/1.9 aperture, a 5-megapixel front camera, and a 2550mAh battery.
Also, from the images leaked by tipster @evleaks last week, the handset in Black and White camouflage colour schemes seems to be an AT&T carrier exclusive or at least be limited to the US region like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. Samsung has however, not yet confirmed any of the aforementioned rumours and speculations.
