Samsung Galaxy S5 is now available in India via Samsung's India online
store and physical retail stores at Rs. 51,500. The phone is also
launching in 125 countries on Friday, having
gone on sale in Samsung's Korea earlier. The price in India is in line with
what we had reported earlier.
Notably, the company launched the Exynos-powered octa-core version of the Galaxy S5 in India, while Samsung showcased only the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801-powered version at MWC 2014, amidst much fanfare.
Interestingly, reports have claimed the Exynos-powered variant beats the Snapdragon variant in some benchmarks.

The octa-core Exynos chipset used in the India-variant Galaxy S5 is being specified as the Adonis Prime2 (Quad 1.9GHz + Quad 1.3GHz) + XMM6360 by Samsung. In addition, Samsung had also confirmed that the octa-core variant in India would only offer 3G connectivity, and no 4G like the Snapdragon 801-powered smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It features a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080x1920 pixel full-HD resolution. It is powered by an unnamed 2.5GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The Galaxy S5 will be available in 16GB and 32GB variants, with microSD card expandability up to 64GB.
The phone received a software update days before it went on sale.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 bears a 16-megapixel rear camera with HDR (for video as well), and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera can record UHD video @30 fps along with HDR and video stabilisation functionality.
Earlier, Samsung's three new wearable devices - the Gear Fit, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo - were made officially available in India via the company's online store.
