Sammobile claims to have received some insights on the innards of the alleged Galaxy S5 Mini from a source. The site claims that Samsung's alleged mini version of the Galaxy S5 will come with model number SM-G800. The site has also posted some purported specifications of the Galaxy S5 Mini, which include a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with HD (720p) display, which can be considered scaled down when compared to Galaxy S5's 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution.
On the software front, the alleged Galaxy S5 Mini is said to run Android 4.4 KitKat, much like its elder sibling. However, there is no word whether the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy S5 Mini will pack features such as the fingerprint scanner, heart rate sensor and IP67 certification for dust and water-resistant.
Other leaked specifications include a quad-core Snapdragon processor (unspecified chipset); 8-megapixel rear camera; 2-megapixel front-facing camera; 1.5GB of RAM; 16GB inbuilt storage, an IR blaster and 2100mAh battery.
As of now, there is no word on the availability and pricing details of the alleged Galaxy S5 Mini.
Notably, we first heard of the Galaxy S5 Mini only recently, when a case maker tipped the device, alongside the yet-to-be-launched Nokia Lumia 1820 and Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom.
The Samsung Galaxy S5, on the other hand, made its way to the Indian market in late March. The company announced that the smartphone will be priced in India between Rs. 51,000 and Rs. 53,000. Samsung said it would reveal the exact pricing of its new flagship smartphone ahead of the 11 April availability.
For those unaware, the Samsung Galaxy S5 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. An octa-core Exynos chipset powers the Galaxy S5 India-variant, featuring the Adonis Prime2 (Quad 1.9GHz + Quad 1.3GHz) and XMM6360.
The Galaxy S5 comes with 2GB of RAM and will be available in 16GB inbuilt storage model only, with microSD card expandability up to 64GB. It sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with HDR (for video as well), and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera can record UHD video @30 fps along with HDR and video stabilization functionality.
