Samsung has been famous for launching its Galaxy flagship smartphones in avatars or variants. Following the tradition, the South Korean manufacturer seems all set to launch the Galaxy S5's ruggedized version, thought to be called the Galaxy S5 Active, if a couple of new video of the phone that surfaced online is to be believed.

The YouTube video, posted by TK Tech News, shows a brief hands-on of the unannounced Galaxy S5 Active. The video purportedly shows the device's overall design, which looks reminiscent of the Galaxy S4 Active, launched last year. The YouTuber shows that the Galaxy S5 Active packs an AT&T Micro-SIM card. However, as of now there is no official word on the release of the Galaxy S5 Active by either Samsung or AT&T.

Some of alleged Galaxy S5 Active specifications listed in the benchmark results visible in the second video include a Snapdragon 801 processor; full-HD display; 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat onboard.

We are expecting that the Galaxy S5 Active will be dust and waterproof, much like the Galaxy S4 Active. For those unaware, the Galaxy S5 (Review | Pictures) is a dust and water-resistant device.

The Galaxy S5 Active is also likely to come with a water-resistant earphone jack, so one can use earphones even during wet conditions. Similar to the Galaxy S4 Active, the Galaxy S5 Active is also expected to take pictures underwater and feature an 'Aqua Mode' for the same.

Apart from the Galaxy S5 Active, other variants of Samsung's current flagship smartphone have been expected ever since the company unveiled the original at MWC. Apart from a mini-variant, a camera phone-variant (Galaxy K zoom, now official), and a lite-variant, Samsung is also expected to be making a premium-variant, thought to be called the Galaxy S5 Prime.

Recently, Samsung's alleged premium variant of its latest flagship smartphone, the rumoured Galaxy S5 Active, was leaked in images.
