Samsung has started rolling out the spiced-up Gingerbread update for Galaxy S users in Korea. Although this update is based on version 2.3 of Android, it contains features that were released for the first time in Ice Cream Sandwich. It should be out for the Galaxy S users in other countries in the coming weeks.

Company had promised this so-called 'value pack' update to Galaxy S users after announcing that the smartphone won't get Android 4.0 because of hardware restrictions.

It features face unlock, new photo editor app, ability of add folders, take photos while recording video and other performance improvements. Consumers can update their smartphones via the Kies application on the PC.
