Specifications surrounding the Galaxy S IV's processor have been creating quite a bit of chaos in the past few weeks. While SamMobile revealed in a report that the device will feature a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600, another report by JPMorgan claimed that the the smartphone is expected to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor in the US and a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa in Europe and other regions.

It turns out, that just a week before its launch, an AnTuTu benchmark specs leak for one of the Galaxy S IV variants showing that the device is apparently powered by a 1.8GHz Exynos 5410 Octa processor and an ARM-powered PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU.

Other leaked specs mention a 4.99-inch full-HD (1920×1080) display, 2GB RAM, 16/32GB storage options, a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording, 2.1-megapixel front camera, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, A-GPS,E-Compass, G-Sensor and the Android 4.2 OS.

The specs are also indicative of GSM, WCDMA and LTE support. SamMobile notes that this indicates a single variant of the Galaxy S IV as opposed to the company's earlier high-end offerings in two variants. The blog quotes the Galaxy S III as an example, which had the GT-I9300 with GSM connectivity and the GT-I9305 offering additional LTE support.

The benchmarks show the Galaxy S IV pitted against other devices like the LG Optimus G, the LG Nexus 4, the Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S III, HTC One X+ amongst others.

As far as the display is concerned, the benchmark does not mention whether it will feature a SoLux display as indicated by previous rumours, or whether the company will stick to its infamous AMOLED display seen on many of the company's devices. SamMobile earlier reported that the Samsung factory has run into problems producing AMOLED full-HD displays.

When Samsung unveiled the eight-core Exynos 5 Octa at CES, it was widely expected that the Samsung Galaxy S IV would feature Samsung's latest innovation. However, according to SamMobile, Samsung seems to have run into some overheating issues with the processor, and Samsung believe the problem will not be fixed in time for the Galaxy S IV launch, hence the decision to switch to Qualcomm's chip.

Samsung has also released a teaser for its Galaxy S IV launch event through its official Twitter account. The teaser shouts out 'Be Ready 4 The Next Galaxy', and mentions Times Square (New York, USA) as the venue and 14 March 2013, 7PM EST, as the date and time for the Samsung Unpacked 2013 event. The event would also have a webcast as the teaser mentions a live stream link.
